The Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone has declared a K10.4 million dividend to the Industrial Development Corporation, marking the fifth consecutive year the company has rewarded its shareholder with a payout.
A Fifth Straight Year of Returns
The Lusaka South Multi-Facility Economic Zone (LS-MFEZ) declared a dividend of K10.4 million to the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) during a ceremony presided over by LS-MFEZ Board Chairperson Boster Chiyaba, with the cheque received by IDC CEO Cornwell Muleya. Representatives from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry also attended.
Chiyaba said the dividend reflects the company’s continued ability to create sustainable value despite a challenging operating environment in 2025. For the 2025 financial year, LS-MFEZ recorded revenue exceeding ZMW151 million, gross profit of ZMW89.7 million, operating profit of ZMW20.2 million and net profit of ZMW23.2 million.
He noted that cumulative dividends declared over the past five years now stand at ZMW24.3 million, up from ZMW10.2 million declared in 2024. Chiyaba added that LS-MFEZ has attracted cumulative investments exceeding US$2.07 billion by the end of 2025, spanning 168 approved investments and creating more than 38,000 jobs.
IDC Calls for Continued Discipline
Receiving the dividend, Muleya congratulated the board, management and staff of LS-MFEZ, describing the declaration as evidence of value creation, sound governance and disciplined execution. He urged the board and management to sustain the momentum by prioritising infrastructure investment, improved investor service delivery, prudent financial management and strong corporate governance, saying this would help build a resilient, self-sustaining business capable of delivering even greater returns and developmental impact for Zambia.
