The Higher Education Authority has won First Prize in the Best Government Exhibit category at the 98th Agriculture and Commercial Show, marking its first-ever top honour at the event.
A Historic First for HEA
The Higher Education Authority (HEA) has claimed First Prize in the Best Government Exhibit category at the 98th Agriculture and Commercial Show, recognising its exhibition themed “Higher Education: Zambia’s Foundation for Trade, Investment and Economic Growth.” The HEA stand combined information on quality assurance, accredited learning programmes and institutional oversight with practical innovations showcased by Zambia University College of Technology, Chalimbana University and Palabana University.
According to Corporate Communications Officer Birbal Boniface Musoba, the exhibition demonstrated how higher education contributes to agriculture, technology, healthcare, entrepreneurship, employment creation, trade and investment. The win represents the Authority’s first-ever First Prize at the Show, following a Second Place finish in the Best Educational Institution category in 2024, during Director-General Professor Kazhila C. Chinsembu’s first year in the role.
Credit to Leadership and Partners
HEA credited Professor Chinsembu’s guidance and commitment to strengthening the Authority’s public engagement as central to the achievement, describing it as a reflection of his continued support for the Corporate Communications Unit and HEA’s broader stakeholder engagement efforts under its 2022–2026 Strategic Plan. The Authority also thanked the participating higher education institutions, management, the Stand Manager, staff and partners whose teamwork contributed to the result.
HEA said a more in-depth article on the award and its participation in the Show will follow.
