The International Youth Festival 2026 has begun welcoming delegates in Yekaterinburg, with participants from 47 of the event’s 191 confirmed countries arriving on the opening day.
Arrivals Underway
Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Grigory Gurov confirmed at a press conference that delegates from 47 countries, including Australia, Algeria, Brazil, Indonesia, Mongolia, Korea and Serbia, along with several European nations and individual participants from Canada and the United States, had already arrived as check-in continued. He said all participants were expected to arrive across September 11 and 12, with arrivals welcomed at the airport and train station in a traditional bread-and-salt ceremony.
Gurov noted that around 1,500 participants celebrating birthdays during the festival period would receive special recognition throughout the week.
About the Festival
The International Youth Festival, running September 11-17 in Yekaterinburg under the motto “Follow Your Dream,” will bring together 10,000 young leaders from 191 countries, including 5,000 Russian and 5,000 foreign participants, among them 1,000 teenagers aged 14 to 17. The event follows the 2024 World Youth Festival held in Sirius, which drew 20,000 participants from 190 countries.
